Anyone in the world By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Ramsey]Andrew Ramsey Mobile Phone Deals - How many gifts would you like? Mobile phone retailers are constantly striving to find new products and gifts to 'give away' with contract mobile phones. Rather than offering the almost industry standard Cash Back option you can now choose from some amazing gifts when signing up to a 12 or 18 month contract with your new phone.
Examples include Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and Satellite Navigation systems all thrown into the deal. New companies are now looking further afield for their gifts and you can expect new offerings such as designer bags, clothes, console games, magazine subscriptions, hair straighteners and latest release gadgets. This can only mean that things are set to get far more confusing for the consumer who could be easily led into a deal that does not suit them but does offer a gift that they just cannot refuse. Imagine, the latest Nintendo Wii, on every console users 'wish list,' is available Free with a mobile phone with the latest technology and features. The problem being that in order to get the 'free' console, not only do you have to sign up to an 18 month contract but the monthly line rental is a massive 70 per month - far more than most people would want to spend on a mobile phone. Where will this all end? Perhaps it will get to the stage where there will be more 'free gifts' available than mobile phone models, as if the mobile market is not confusing enough already for consumers it seems set to become incomprehensible! Andrew Ramsey operates 28 different mobile phone comparison websites with direct relationships with retailers and networks who keep him constantly updated with their latest mobile phone deals on a daily basis. Anyone in the world By Charles Cuninghame I got set up recently, by my grandmother of all people! I went over to her place for lunch with my parents and as soon as I got through the door she told me she had invited Justine, a workmate of hers. The way my grandmother went on about Justine I could tell it was a set up and said so. My father replied: "You should be so lucky." As it turns out Justine was lovely, a tall honey blonde with model's cheekbones, deep brown eyes and a warm smile. She has lived in many parts of the world, is a painter and has ambitions to be a travel writer. I found myself flirting with her, and later that night I couldn't get her out of my head. I felt all warm and tingly and started fantasising about the two of us living together in a seaside shack in Sicily. That's when I knew...it was a crush. I had all the familiar symptoms: racing heartbeat, inability to focus, a tingling in my groin, lightheadedness and rampant fantasising. I didn't know the first thing about this woman or what she's like, and already in my mind we're going out. According to Beverly Palmer, a clinical psychologist at California State University, "a crush is bred on lack of knowledge. It's driven by unrequited love and that unrequitedness, that secrecy, keeps it fuelled." When you have a crush, it's important to remember that it is just a fantasy. That way you can enjoy it for what it is - a pleasant diversion. You may be thinking love, but in reality it's more likely to be lust that's fuelling your crush. And if you get too enmeshed in the crush, and can't distinguish fantasy from reality, you might be headed for heart break. A crush can be very unsatisfying. It could end up as unrequited love. Or if you act on your crush and start pursuing the object of your desire, you might find that the actual person can't live up to the perfect image of that person you have put up on a pedestal in your mind. So if you do decide to act on your crush keep an open mind. The object of your crush probably won't be the person you imagined them to be. But they might be an exciting proposition nonetheless. And if you decide not to approach your crushee, just revel in the fantasy. A crush will certainly make your life more interesting. The prospect of a chance encounter makes the senses tingle. Anyone in the world By Joshua Nay Most of us interact with our co-workers on a daily basis, its what helps us get through the day. Most employers go to great lengths to promote the "team", some thousands of dollars on retreats and seminars and the like. Basically, to them a group of cooperative, resourceful employees all working together is as valued as good advertising. And no wonder, without it their business would fare well. Picture a workplace populated only by the characters of the show "Family Guy". How succsessful do you think this business would be? One of the biggest problems employers face is the romantic relationships among their employees. Some companys even ban such relationships. Do you think it matters much? Ive always thought that when two people "spark" the rules of the company mean little. At least it has with me. However, people get fired, sued and accused of misbehavior all the time in virtually every company. Sexual harrasment has become a major topic in today job market, and its all about one thing. The harrasee's opinion of what harrasment is. Thats it, an opinion. The perception that one is being put down, embarrased of manipulated with a sexual pretext. Not a very hard-drawn line in my opinion. But, sexual harrasment is a problem as well as relationships among co-workers, often the latter magically transforming into the former. Keeping a respectable distance from the lifes of your peers at work is the key. How you present yourself to them will directally influence how they respond towards you. If you show intrest in their life away from work, and start developing a relationship, emotions and insecurites will soon start influencing your enteractions, and the main problem will be the fact that neither of you will be aware of it. Our thoughts are modified by our feelings all the time and when that happens it seems everybody see's it but us. Be friendly but not overtally open, avoid pet names and personal e-mails with co-workers. Always keep in mind the fact that they will respond to how you assotiate with them. Im not saying having friends at work will get you fired, im just demonstrating how sometimes over-friendliness can be detramental to your succsess. Josh Nay

Anyone in the world By Athlyn Green If you are interested in antidepressant information, it is prudent to explore traditional and alternative approaches. Modern treatments offer hope and flexible strategies to combat depression. Light has been shed on depressive illnesses. Exciting scientific discoveries have yielded substances that affect the brain in tangible ways. Antidepressant research has crossed new frontiers and pioneered innovative treatment options. Safer prescription drugs are now available over older medications that presented greater side effects and risks. Newer selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) may be more beneficial that tricyclics or MAOIs, and side effects are generally less severe than those experienced with use of the older types of depression medicine. With access to newer antidepressant information, doctors may prescribe other drugs such as Desyrel, Effexor, or Wellbutrin, which do not fit into usual or standard drug classifications of antidepressants; however, these were uncovered in the search for safer, non-toxic medications. In addition, exciting natural substances, taken from nature or derived from plants, provide potent ingredients that affect brain functioning. Antidepressant research reveals that herbal supplements can work like depression medications. If you are exploring alternative approaches in your search for effective treatment, it may prove helpful to examine benefits that herbal preparations offer. In the search for antidepressant information, getting a handle on how and why these natural substances work will round out your knowledge. An exciting substance is 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan). It is produced from the African plant Griffonia Simplicifolia. It significantly improves anxiety and depression and is comparable to conventional medications. Ongoing antidepressant research suggests that 5-hydroxytryptophan may also be beneficial in mood disorders. It has been clinically shown to increase production of serotonin and has been used for more than 30 years. SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) is well tolerated and can act on the brain in a fashion similar to traditional drugs. It can reduce depression and improve intellectual performance. It is critical in the manufacturing of important brain compounds, such as neurotransmitters. Huperzine A is an alkaloid moss from China. It protects brain tissue and improves memory, cognitive and behavioral functions. In evaluating antidepressant information it is important to recognize that certain herbals also play a role in mental clarity and energy. Ginkgo biloba, passionflower, chamomile, Siberian ginseng, vitamins B1 and B6 have been shown to either ease anxiety or alleviate depression. A good quality natural remedy will include other vitamins, minerals, enzymes, amino acids, and specialty supplements and combine these ingredients in a scientific formulation designed to provide the nutritional, chemical, and hormonal balance you need to combat and correct troubling conditions. Truly, antidepressant research has come a long way, offering hope to those suffering from challenging symptoms of anxiety and depression. With the advances yielded by science and current and appropriate antidepressant information, you are well on your way to feeling better. Modern treatments offer flexible approaches for treating depression. Athlyn Green is an avid health enthusiast with an interest in natural remedies for treatment of health disorders. Anyone in the world By Clark Nelson I AM speaks to people through His Word, the Holy Bible. Historical, inspirational and supernatural, the Bible has been with us since calendar recording began. Readers of the Holy Bible can understand the records of ancient times. We discern what the numbered ages in the Old Testament actually mean by using three oldest calendars. Three calendar systems that help our study of Bible times are the Jewish, Mesoamerican and the Egyptian calendars. These three calendars allow us to trace back into remote prehistory. The word prehistory includes the before time, and the compound of His and story. Scientists who have worked with these very early cultures can provide the basic calendar methods that were once used to measure time. We need to review the Lord's units of main time keeping to see the way ancient humanity dealt with time observation. Early parts of the Old Testament mention days and years together. Time and the Biblical Creation include major fundamental concepts known to the ancient Jewish people. The Old Testament provides our first realistic ideas about time reckoning and recording. The Lord defines the day and night in the book of Genesis. The very first calendar of one day had begun. Description of the seven-day Creative Week further defines basic operation of the calendar. The sacred seven-day week is a fundamental religious idea. Four phases of the moon marked four weekly intervals during the month. Approximate lunar phases are attached to the origins of the calendar Sabbath week. Seven-day weeks and lunar months create the lunar-side of the lunar/solar calendars. We are discovering ancient days when timekeepers watched the sun, moon and stars. The Jewish Calendar is simple when you understand the numbers used. The Jewish Calendar is based on the sun and moon together and measures chronology in numbered years from the Creation year 1. Modern recorded dates denote this era as B.C.E. for Before Common Era. Christianity dates according to the birth of Christ. The same B.C.E. initials mean Before Christian Era or simply B.C. for Before Christ. Time reckoning after Christ applies the A.D. marking of Anno Domini, which stems from the Latin meaning: After Divinity in the year of our Lord. Calendar systems map world chronology according to different beginnings. Some follow Jewish tradition and put the Creation date at 5,767 years ago or about 3,761 years B.C.E. Others credit Archbishop Ussher with calculating in 1,701 A.D. that Creation took place in 4,004 B.C. The Egyptian Calendar begins between 4,236 B.C.E. and 4,241 B.C.E., along with Egyptian mythology explaining the world's creation. Starting dates depend on star observation in Egypt, since that is the only way primal society had to mark calendar years. Another plan estimates the starting Mayan Calendar date to be 3,113 B.C.E. Shared calendar characteristics enable deeper inspection of prehistoric time reckoning. Sacred texts and current science provide clues needed to reconstruct the oldest Biblical history. Important traits gathered from past calendar time streams become woven together to obtain hybrid insight. Three ancient calendar systems form the world's oldest trunk line of calendar science. God used a lunar/solar calendar to write listed ages for the Antediluvian Patriarchs. The family of Adam heralds new discovery from the earliest time. Ages of Adam will aid you through better understanding of the Old Testament and significant calendar information. The work at timeemits.com stresses time reckoning and recording. We return to the origins of day and night that lead up to the sacred seven-day week to explore this affinity between God above and calendar times. Genesis 1:4 "And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness." God was "between" the light, and the darkness in the literal Hebrew definition. This basic interlinear Bible definition establishes a slightly different thought of God being between or separating, daylight on the one hand, and darkness on the other. This meaning sets the precedence for identifying day and night. Genesis 1:5 "And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day." The Lord put two great lights in heaven, one to rule the day and one to rule the night. The light of the sun measured the day and the light of the moon measured time greater than a day. The greater light is, of course, the sun. Everything we call solar deals with the sun. The lesser light, or luminary, is the moon. The word lunar relates to the moon or the month. The sun and moon identify as luminaries. This work of God, of dividing, separating or coming between daylight and darkness to measure time is the basic premise of the original Jewish calendar. Calendars, time, and the sacred seven-day week have inspired the purest of time references to the Holy Bible. We must examine formative religions and ideas about time. In chapter 5 of Genesis, a correlation exists between the begat genealogy following Adam and numerical ties to ancient calendars. Adam and his descendants through Noah are the Antediluvian Patriarchs. Antediluvian tells us they were before the great flood of Noah and all were Patriarchs or fore fathers of humanity. The Holy Bible provides our greatest treasure of calendar history and early theology. The Master of the Universe, He who sits upon the throne of glory and grace, stretches forth His right hand to give us time. We become one human race when you put man and woman together. There are two literal Hebrew definitions involved here. Adam meant the man, in the literal Hebrew sense of the word. Adam, the word, differs from a personal pronoun name like Bob or John. Adam is the human being, the generic man or a breathing creature. Adam in this work refers to the universal, generic meaning for man. The man is a derivative form of the root word that describes reddish clay, soil or dust. Literal word searches furnish meanings that aid our calendar study. A synthesis of faiths and mythology sharpen initial views regarding civilization. People have always marked birth and death by the calendar. Calendars unite with the spiritual afterlife in memorials. Early religions recognized conceptions of the spirit and soul after death by burial and by saying from dust unto dust. The lifetime of Adam is given precise lunar/solar years in chapter 5 of Genesis. Eve is the woman in literal Hebrew. She is the life-giver, mother to the living, or child-bearer. The feminine fertility issue has always been associated with lunar observation. The lunar month forever etches upon humanity the moon -- mother perceptions of ancient times. Cycles of new moons were basic time reckoning ingredients for lunar/solar calendars. Where Eve represented the feminine side of human order according to lunar observation, Adam represented the masculine, solar side, according to solar positioning on the horizon. In other words, Adam's male image also implied meaning toward the rising and setting positions of the sun through all four seasons during the year. Adam and Eve have embedded connections with primitive cosmology. Clarification of God resting on the seventh day defines a separation between successive time frames. God again divides, separates or is between the light and darkness of the moon. Repeated instances in a theme show a holy relationship is present between specific divisions of calendar times. Transition from one lunar phase ending to commencement of the next lunar phase is the most revered unit of time measurement known. God set aside the Sabbath Day as holy. God consecrated the Jewish Shabbat for all time to come. The sacred Jewish significance of the seven-day week and the number seven elsewhere support religious observance of the moon as an early calendar. The lunar/solar calendar begins to emerge with a variety of ultimate connotations. Day unto night, between the weeks as Sabbath, new moon crescents and finally intercalary days all continue divine providence upon Earth. Time steps in the lunar/solar calendar accumulate for longer time cycles. Years and then multiple of years exhibit the same religious notions to vast proportions. Changes in the appearance of the moon at night provide the seven-day week. Divisions of seven-days separate the four basic lunar phases noted in figure 1. Starting with a new moon crescent, the moon gradually comes into view on following nights. The first half of the moon is visible in about seven-days. The moon waxes until full moon at the end of two weeks. Lunar light reverses progression in the third week, waning to half visibility. A fourth week completes the month and visibility diminishes toward a new moon. Completion of four lunar phases comprises the month. The true lunar month measures 29.53-days. Ancient calendar makers recorded approximations according to actual observation. Whole lunar months of 29-days or 30-days were the common practice in lunar/solar calendar systems. The average lunar month of 29.5-days repeats upon sighting the new moon crescent. Light and darkness classify lunar phases in the lunar-side of lunar/solar calendars. Original interpretations of lunar time place God between the weeks on Sabbath Days. Four Phases of the Moon Figure 1 Four Phases of the Moon New Moon First Quarter Full Moon Fourth Quarter

29.5 Days Average Lunar Month Lunar/solar calendar foundations of the Jewish calendar extend from the earliest verses of scripture. Natural, uniform motions of the heavenly spheres are the pivotal markers of time reckoning. The list of ancient characters mentioned in the Old Testament used this lunar/solar calendar system of time recording. Observation of lunar phases coupled with solar positioning graduated the lifetime ages of Adam and his descendants. Well over ten thousand years ago, proto-historical calendar makers had developed advanced sciences such as mathematics and astronomy. Intercalary days add to the lunar year of twelve-moon-months in order to complete our modern solar year of 365-days. Necessary intercalations best describe lunar/solar separation time by "coming between" lunar and solar times. Time Equations There are 12 finished lunar months during the current 365-day-solar-year. Since day one, that has never changed. An average lunar month is about 29.5-days long measured against a starry nighttime background. There are four quarters during one-lunar-month. From new moon, which shows no moonlight, to the first phase of the moon, or half the lighted moon, about one week has passed. Moonlight waxes to full-moon stage after two weeks. Reversing the pattern, the third week of the month wanes visibility to diminish the moon's light back to halfway again. The fourth weekly period continues the waning retreat of moonlight until again repeating the new moon. Twelve mature lunar months multiply by 29.5-days per lunar month for 354-days to approximate the lunar year (Eqn. 1). Time differences between lunar and solar calendar years provide lunar/solar calendar adjustments or intercalations. Subtraction yields 11 days of lunar/solar separation time between the lunar year of 12-moon-months and the 365-day-solar-year (Eqn. 2). Eleven days of difference every year were the staple for lunar/solar calendars. During 19-years, 11-days of lunar/solar separation time every year multiply this division between lunar years and solar years (Eqn. 3). Lunar/solar separation time measures 209-days of difference after 19-years have passed. Therefore, any 19-year lunar/solar calendar cycle had to incorporate these remaining 209-days of separation as intercalary days in order to catch up the lunar-side of the calendar, with the solar-side of the calendar. Intercalary systems varied between cultures to compensate calendar recording. The Mayan Calendar escalates the same intercalations to distribute 210-days over a 20-year lunar/solar calendar cycle (Eqn. 3). Throughout this text, 'lunar/solar' denotes calendar terminology that pertains to lunar and solar time. Variations include 'lunar/solar separation time' to indicate time between lunar years and solar years. Occasionally the phrase is abbreviated 'l/s'. Lunar-side specifically addresses time measured according to lunar or moon reckoning. Solar-side time splits address time that depends upon solar or sun reckoning. Lunar/solar calendar time is the most important approach to survey ancient calendars. Equations 1. 12-Month-Lunar-Year
29.5 day-lunar-month
x 12 lunar-months in lunar-year
= 354 day-lunar-year 2. 11-Days of Lunar/Solar Separation Time
365 day-solar-year
- 354 day-lunar-year
= 11 days of l/s separation time per l/s calendar year 3. Lunar/Solar Separation Time for 20-year-L/S-Cycle
11-days of Separation per l/s calendar year
x 19-year-l/s-calendar cycle
= 209 days of separation per 19-year-l/s-cycle
Approximates to 210 Days of Separation per 20-year l/s-cycle The lunar/solar calendar begins to emerge with a variety of ultimate connotations. Day unto night, between the weeks as Sabbath, new moon crescents and finally intercalary days all continue divine providence upon Earth. Time steps in the lunar/solar calendar accumulate for longer time cycles. Years and then multiple of years exhibit the same religious notions to vast proportions. Lunar/solar calendars were common throughout the ancient world. Different calendar systems employed the 19-year cycle with slight variations. Study of the Jewish Calendar provides the necessary understanding that is fundamental to lunar/solar calendar cycles. Equally important, the Jewish Calendar was the mainstay time recording plan found throughout the Old Testament. More information regarding Jewish Calendar festival and holiday celebrations is available from the timeemits.com website. The scope of this work is primarily the treatment of l/s intercalations. Ancient and modern versions of the calendar vary slightly. A true comparison is possible only through supplementary reading in Judaism. Are you a pastor, educator or a student of the Holy Bible? Timeemits.com seeks anointed people to review and contribute to the Ages of Adam ministry. Ancient lunar/solar calendars like the Jewish and Mayan calendars provide the background to understanding early time. Ancient calendars of the Holy Bible use differences between the moon and sun, numerical matching and a 364-day calendar year to describe X-number of days that match with X-number of years. Anyone in the world By Joy Healey Hair contains all the minerals present in the body and, in most cases, reflects the quantity of these elements in your tissues. Analysis of this information provides a wealth of information on how efficiently your body is working and its nutritional status. A blood test will only give information about your mineral levels at the time the test is taken. For instance, if youve just eaten a banana a blood test may indicate a high potassium level, even though you actually need a potassium supplement. Hair analysis reflects your bodys storage of potassium over a period of time, not what you ate that day, or even that week. Likewise, urine tests measure what is being excreted from your body, which is not necessarily what has been absorbed. How is it carried out? Taking a hair sample is simple, non-invasive and pain free. Any-one can do it. Full instructions are supplied. The sample is despatched to a lab in the USA which specialises only in hair analysis. There it is prepared for testing and acids are added to break the hair down, separating out the elements in the hair protein. After digestion the remaining mineral salts are put into solution and analysed by sensitive and specialised instruments. The results are interpreted to produce nutritional mineral levels, their interrelationships and metabolic categorisation. The report is then personalised complete with graphs and explanations which may give you answers you have been seeking for years. Why the USA? After evaluating various services I settled on this lab because it offered excellent value for money, a superb report and a fast service. Reports typically contain over 12 pages of information (depending on findings) and are normally delivered within a fortnight. They include levels of 38 minerals and the interactions between them, metabolic type with a list of recommended supplements and details of foods to increase and decrease in order to improve your mineral balance. Although there are cheaper services, some I have seen return just one sheet of paper giving levels of less than 20 minerals. No explanations, no interactions, no graphs, no analysis. You get what you pay for. Are there any problems? You will be asked to specify which hair preparations you used, as some hair treatments can contaminate scalp hair. For instance dyes may contain lead acetate, bleaching processes affect calcium and certain medicated shampoos contain zinc or selenium. However, only that individual element is affected. All the others tested are valid. Although some health-care professionals remain sceptical, in the past twenty years there have been over a thousand references in peer-reviewed journals, supporting the reliability of the HMA. Case history 1: J.C. presented with symptoms of fatigue, lethargy, joint aches and excessive hair loss (at age 25). His hair mercury was markedly high. Following treatment his hair levels of mercury decreased to a much more acceptable level and his symptoms improved significantly. The source of the toxicity was never identified. Case history 2: C.T. became mentally ill and was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. He was also alcoholic and consuming large quantities of drugs. An HMA revealed four times the acceptable levels of lead in his hair and also elevated levels of cadmium, mercury and copper. Following therapy and supplementation his condition improved dramatically, he lost his cravings for alcohol and his symptoms of mental illness reverted to normal, with no further need for psychoactive drugs. Case history 3: L.S., a housewife in her early 40s, had been feeling tired for months. Her doctor had run all the standard tests and could find no problems. Finally she had an HMA which showed she had high levels of lead that were causing her tiredness. The cure came easily, she was feeling better in two weeks and the tired feeling vanished within a month. L.S. was breathing excess lead from a car exhaust. How much lead are you breathing in from car exhausts jogging or queuing in heavy traffic? How much cadmium have you accumulated from passive (or active!) smoking at the office and the pub? Is the mercury in your fillings stable, or is the vapour slowly poisoning you?
Why might you benefit from an HMA? If you have a disease or illness that has not responded to conventional treatment, you may wish to explore other possibilities and an HMA is an excellent place to start. If you suffer from "unexplained" problems such as headaches, backaches, weakness or tremors, an HMA may help you to get to the bottom of it. Or you may just be feeling under par without knowing why. How much lead are you breathing in from car exhausts jogging or queuing in heavy traffic? How much cadmium have you accumulated from passive (or active!) smoking at the office and the pub? Is the mercury in your fillings stable, or is the vapour slowly poisoning you? Are just toxic minerals examined? No the HMA will examine the status of the essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium, zinc, chromium and a whole host of others. Modern food processing methods strip nutrients from food. A massive 98% of chromium is stripped from flour in the refining process. Chromium is an essential part of the Glucose Tolerance Factor which controls blood sugar, stimulates burning of food for energy, controls blood cholesterol levels, reduces blood fat levels and suppresses hunger symptoms. Modern farming methods have depleted the mineral content of soil and addition of some fertilisers can make minerals unavailable to plants. If sodium (in table salt), calcium (in dairy products) and phosphorous (in fizzy drinks) are present in excess in your diet, these can upset the natural mineral ratios. Is fluoride in your water supply depressing your calcium absorption? The graphs in an HMA will reveal all. Why not find out? To sum up: Obviously an HMA is no substitute for diagnosis by a qualified medical practitioner, but if conventional medical investigations have failed to find a reason, or suggest a treatment for your problem, Hair Mineral Analysis represents an invaluable and cost effective next step. Anyone in the world By Anthony Smith In this lesson we are going to talk about man made religions, all which are contrary to the Holy Bible. L. Ron Hubbard. The Scientology religion Scientology is the study and handling of the spirit in relationship to itself, others and all of life. The Scientology religion comprises a body of knowledge extending from certain fundamental truths. Prime among these: Man is an immortal, spiritual being. His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime. His capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realized and those capabilities can be realized. He is able to not only solve his own problems, accomplish his goals and gain lasting happiness, but also achieve new, higher states of awareness and ability. In Scientology no one is asked to accept anything as belief or on faith. That which is true for you is what you have observed to be true. An individual discovers for himself that Scientology works by personally applying its principles and observing or experiencing results. The Scientology religion is about the individual man or woman. Its goal is to bring an individual to a sufficient understanding of himself and his life and free him to make improvements where he finds them necessary and in the ways he sees fit. Lets look at the Biblical perspective on Scientology. Sci. 1.His experience extends well beyond a single lifetime. The Bible. 1.Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Gen_3:19. Death is not an act of nature but rather it is an appointment that we all have. Sci. 2. His capabilities are unlimited. Bible. 2. Gen 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. 1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; Barnes; To confound - To bring to shame; or that he might make them ashamed; that is, humble them by showing them how little he regarded their wisdom; and how little their wisdom contributed to the success of his cause. By thus overlooking them, and bestowing his favors on the humble and the poor; by choosing his people from the ranks which they despised, and bestowing on them the exalted privilege of being called the sons of God, he had poured dishonor on the rich and the great, and overwhelmed them, and their schemes of wisdom, with shame. It is also true, that those who are regarded as fools by the wise men of the world are able often to confound those who boast of their wisdom; and that the arguments of plain people, though unlearned except in the school of Christ; of people of sound common sense under the influence of Christian principles, have a force which the learning and talent of the people of this world cannot gainsay or resist. They have truth on their side; and truth, though dressed in a humble garb, is more mighty than error, though clothed with the brilliancy of imagination, the pomp of declamation, and the cunning of sophistry. Sci. 3. In Scientology no one is asked to accept anything as belief or on faith. Anyone in the world By Wendy Maynard In a crowded marketplace of ideas, it is important for non-profit organizations to establish a well-defined niche. While most non-profits are not selling products, they are selling their organization's mission, their ideas, their programs, and their services. In a world where everyone is inundated with information, a strong image is the key to community awareness. Developing and maintaining a visible and credible identity through marketing will increase local support for your organization. Many non-profit organizations believe their programs will sell themselves based on their inherent worth. They operate with the assumption that support and recognition will automatically come to a good cause. Unfortunately, this is a false premise. Even the best of programs will fade into obscurity unless non-profit management intentionally makes other groups, associations, businesses, and individuals aware of their mission and continuously maintains that level of awareness. Communication builds understanding and initiates action. It is essential that non-profit management define their intended audiences, target their messages to these groups, and outline strategic plans that will best use limited resources to meet organizational goals and objectives. Leaders must also take steps to ensure that marketing strategies are carried out consistently and persistently, constantly in alignment with the organization's mission. How many people in your community are alert to the good work of your organization? Effective communication and a consistent image also enhance the ability of non-profit organizations to raise money. If local community members do not have an awareness of the good work that a non-profit does, it is unlikely that they will contribute to a fund raising campaign. In turn, if private foundations do not see financial support at the local level, they may be less inclined to award grants. Foundations also look at grant proposals to see how an organization plans to communicate the results of their program. Marketing is an on-going, cumulative strategy that can build financial partnerships. Regardless of an organization's size or mission, here are some essential elements of successful marketing that will work to build community awareness and support: 1. Identify your target audiences: Define the groups that your organization wants to reach. A target audience is NOT everyone in your community! Begin to characterize the demographics of your donors, community leaders and other supporters, and your volunteer base. Focus on methods to reach these groups. 2. Maintain consistent communication: Plan your communications strategy for the next year. Develop a timeline for press releases, newsletters, special events, and other marketing efforts. Develop tangible goals and assign responsibilities to staff, board members, and volunteers. 3. Create a visual identity: Communicate visually as well as verbally. Always display your organization's name and logo on newsletters, reports, signs, and brochures. A memorable, well-designed visual image will strengthen awareness of your organization. Don't be afraid to invest money to make your materials look professional. Your supporters want to see materials that show your organization is responsible, trustworthy, and credible. 4. Use message repetition and variation: An audience is more likely to remember a message if is reiterated in different types of communication. For example, print your mission statement in a brochure, write it in a PSA, and tell it to a news reporter. Slogans are a way to effectively capture the essence of a message in brief and memorable form. 5. Employ multiple communications tactics: Nonprofit organizations often target several audiences, which may respond to different approaches. Various communications campaigns can help establish and maintain a more widespread positive image. 6. Select and use appropriate media: Plan to use a combination of approaches best suited to reaching your targeted audiences and that make best use of your financial resources. Include a variety of methods including phone calls, letters, e-mail, newsletters, PSAs, press releases, and editorials. 7. Develop a strong, well-known identity over time: Building visibility and awareness is a gradual process. Be patient, persistent, and consistent. Reinforce your mission in a variety of ways. 8. Tell the story of your mission: In your communications, let your supporters, donors, and community members know about your good works. In newsletters, press releases, and on your website, tell about who you have helped or what action you have made happen. Spell out the ways in which donations have directly supported your mission. This will reinforce your message and help forge a stronger relationship between your target audiences and your efforts. Wendy Gray Maynard is the co-owner of Kinesis. Anyone in the world By Gary Griffin Hands up all those who can't get through the day without their shots of coffee... ah, that's most of us then! Call it an espresso, cappuccino or a regular coffee, if it's not decaffeinated then the caffeine will have our central nervous system jumping to its own coffee beat, that much we know. But, while the jury may still be out as to whether long-term coffee consumption is detrimental to our health, there is an altogether more wholesome alternative readily available in shops, cafes and restaurants near you - tea. A third lower in caffeine content than coffee, tea is the original health drink. Since before the birth of Christ the people of China have held an appreciation for tea's medicinal qualities, transforming tea growing (and tea drinking) into what can only be described as an art form. More than two thousand years later and Western science is now just starting to prove what the Chinese have known all along - that tea is good for us! The health benefits of tea
Tea is derived from the buds and leaves of the evergreen tea bush, or Camellia Sinensis to give it its correct Latin name. It is a bush native to tropical and sub-tropical parts of Asia, and is the progenitor of six different types of tea, these being White Tea, Green Tea, Yellow Tea, Oolong Tea, Red Tea and Black Tea. Each tea type is identified by the level of processing - i.e. length of fermentation and firing - that the tea leaves and buds undergo, White Tea (the least processed) and Black Tea (the most processed) positioned at opposite ends of the tea spectrum. But, regardless of which tea is chosen, each brew of leaves brings with it health protection that even Medicare would be proud of. From stronger teeth and bones to lowering the risk of contracting certain cancers, tea it seems really does have a positive impact upon the health of the people who drink it. So, why is tea so good for us? According to the latest research it is all down to a trio of health-giving properties that a cup of tea yields: - Polyphenols
Tea contains some 4000 natural chemical compounds, many of which are classified as polyphenols. Tea polyphenols protect the tea bush and its growing leaves from infection by disease. They also fortify the plant against the harmful effects of UV light, and help the plant's seeds to germinate. For humans, it is the sub-group of tea polyphenols known as the flavonoids that are the most important in terms of health. Flavonoids are natural antioxidants that cleanse the body of oxygen and nitrogen-based free radicals. These chemical critters, if left unchecked, can cause tissue damage in the human body, accelerating the aging process and opening the door to diseases such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and cataracts. Flavonoids neutralize this threat by interacting with the unpaired electrons in free radicals, thus removing the danger. In tea, catechins (especially epigallocatechin gallate (ECCG) which can account for up to 50% of catechin content in Green Tea) and tannins are the flavonoids that really walk the walk. As antioxidants they are some 25 - 100 times more effective than vitamin C and vitamin E are, and research studies suggest that their anticarcinogenic properties may help reduce the risk of contracting skin cancer, stomach cancer, oral cancer and colon cancer. Recent work by a Japanese group at the Aichi Cancer Center have even concluded that catechins in Green Tea lower the risk of breast cancer recurrence in its early stages. The biggest result on cancer though has to be in the domain of lung cancer. One study reported that sipping just one cup of Black Tea each day could reduce the risk of lung cancer development by 50%. Amazingly, the health benefits of tea polyphenols do not stop here. Flavonoids offer protection against heart disease and stroke by inhibiting the oxidation of LDL cholesterol - the bad cholesterol that is a forerunner to athersclerosis and high blood pressure. In some animal studies tea flavonoids have also been demonstrated to reduce blood lipids and enhance blood vessel performance. Flavonoids too have antibacterial properties, scientists having proven that tea polyphenols equip us with a greater immunity to bacterial infections such as Salmonella. Even weight watchers have been rejoicing over the past few years since U.S. and Swiss research scientists announced that catechins in Green Tea might promote fat oxidation above and beyond what would normally be expected from caffeine. It has long been realized that tea when taken on its own contains no calories. Now though, tea it seems has found itself in a more central role on some diet regimes around the world! Fluoride
The second health-giving member of our trio is fluoride. Well known as an effective preventative of tooth decay, fluoride is abundant in tea leaves, the nutrient having been drawn from the soil by the tea shrub during growth. Brewed tea contains between 0.5ppm and 6ppm fluoride; this translates to approximately 0.3mg - 0.5mg of fluoride per standard cup of tea - certainly enough to protect dental cavities against decay. Recent research has also suggested that fluoride in tea may help to keep our bones strong too! Water
Water is essential for life. It helps our bodies regulate core body temperature and to transport oxygen to our organs. Keeping our water level topped up is an important element of a balanced diet, and it is recommended that 2.5 - 3.5 liters of water are consumed everyday to achieve this. Contrary to popular belief a cup of tea does contribute positively to our daily need to hydrate, providing that we drink tea in moderation at each sitting. The diuretic impact of tea is inextricably linked to caffeine intake, and it is only when we consume a 250mg-300mg dose of caffeine over a short space of time will it have a negative impact on our hydration level. Given that a regular cup of tea contains approximately 50mg of caffeine, we'd have to drink 5 or 6 cups at once for tea to be considered detrimental to our hydration needs. Getting back to nature
Adoption of a simpler, natural and healthier lifestyle is a goal many of us cherish. Getting back to nature though is sometimes easier said than done when there is a sea of conflicting information about what is and isn't good for us. But in tea we have our champion. Years of research have proven this, placing it at the head of the table as far as natural health drinks are concerned. With further proof that tea is healthy almost certain to materialize over the forthcoming years, isn't it about time you took a tea break? Gary W. Griffin, Ph.D. is a researcher and an entrepreneur. He is also an avid tea drinker. This article is brought to you by Tea FAQS. Anyone in the world By Croydon J Hounslow So you made a success of it, you found a match online and now youre meeting up? Congratulations! The hardest part of the journey is over and now the fun begins. But remember that first impressions do count and if youre not careful, you could still mess things up at this stage. With this in mind, here are my top tips for your first face-to-face: Firstly, make sure you choose the right venue; this may seem obvious but the choice of location can really make or break a date. Ideally you should choose somewhere thats public, with people around but where you can still hold a conversation. Meeting at your house or your dates house is a definite no-no, this not only sends the wrong signals for a first date, but could potentially be unsafe however well you think you know someone online, they could still turn out to be a real world psychopath. Even worse, they could be really boring and fail to take the hint when its time to leave! Cinemas are often regarded as good venues for dates, but think about it youre stuck for up to three hours with your date in a place where you cant talk or even look at each other properly; is that really the best environment to make an impression? Likewise the main dancefloor at Ministry of Sound is not ideal for an involved conversation. Of course, this is not a definitive rule, you might have got chatting in the first place through a shared love of films or dance music, but for the majority of meetings a small intimate caf or quiet pub provides the perfect environment for a little light conversation, some flirting and plenty of eye contact for that all important personal connection that is the key to a successful date. Time of day can be an important factor for a meeting as well. Think about what kind of date you want to have. What do you know about your match already? Is he or she an all-night party animal or an afternoon tea on the lawn type? Studies show that our intentions in online dating are perceived differently depending on the time of day we choose to interact, and this also applies to real world dating. If youre serious about looking for a long term partner and you think this match could possibly be the one, you should consider meeting earlier in the afternoon or evening. This gives the impression that you are a more sober and dependable character, and that your intentions are honest. If youre more into playing the field, or are aiming for a more casual and fun relationship then meeting up later in the evening should be fine. Of course the time of day and venue have to also work together; cafs, art galleries, perhaps a visit to the aquarium are all classic afternoon or early evening activities, leaving time for you to continue to a bar or restaurant later if things are going particularly well. Late night dates are better suited to more upbeat or raucous activities such as gigs, ten-pin bowling or maybe a spot of salsa dancing. Once again, there is no definitive formula that will help you to choose the perfect setting for your date, think about what you know about the person youre meeting up with, what the two of you have in common and try to choose a date scenario that reflects this. Above have fun, relax and be safe!
